I've been going deeper into the rabbit hole of automation. Raycast with plugins has been fantastic.

I'm happy with the terraform infrastructure setup.

But something is missing.

I spin up Ubuntu servers weekly, but I can't take my environment with me when I ssh into a server.

No color output. Default fonts. Plain VIM. Disgusting.

I could put dotfiles into a git repo, but I want something more robust.

Then I remembered that I saw a repo from Jeff Geerling, who wrote several Ansible scripts for setting up everything from his Mac development environment, Docker, Postgres, and more.

So, I'm adapting that to my needs.

I wanna be able to spin up a new server and just say ... "Hey, automation! Configure it for me." And it does its thing.

I'll let you know how it goes.
